# The Ondine Encounter Arrival: Ned falls into cold salt water, hears the bell, and is rescued aboard the Ondine. Event: Serrat’s community questions his vessel affiliation. Maren cares for him and explains her vigil for Cael. A storm sends Ned and Maren overboard. Ned sees mother and child embracing underwater before they drift out of sight. Ned hears Maren speaking to the child. He is rescued and tells the crew he saw her; Maren does not return aboard. Departure: Exhaustion overtakes Ned; he explicitly says he did not yet know what sleep would do. His closing account says two people disappeared that night. An onward dimensional transition is suggested but its destination and timing are not established. Chronology is relative to this visit. No year or calendar date is supplied; UNDATED in the record ID avoids inventing one. ## Evidence and Sources [[Transmission 0001|Transmission 0001 — the ocean and the bell]] · [Original post](https://nednotded.com/the-ocean-and-the-bell/) [[Earth Pelagic|Pelagic World]]
