> PROPOSED WORLD DOSSIER · GENRE ANTHOLOGY
> Hot-pink material is a new scenario for author review, not an established transmission. The closing aftermath is a proposed narrative coda, not information Ned receives after leaving.
## I. World Summary
Organs and limbs can be leased between bodies through compatible nerve grafts. Debt collector Mara wears a hand repossessed from a piano teacher. It keeps playing scales against her leg. She wants it replaced before the teacher recognizes it on the street.
### Geographic Coordinates
Not assigned. The encounter location is described in the summary; no latitude or longitude is established.
### Temporal Coordinates
Not assigned. World numbering is a catalogue order, not a confirmed itinerary.
## II. World Divergence
A graft retains practiced movements but no complete transferable personality. Contracts treat those movements as the buyer’s property. The hand can be trained to hurt someone; training does not make its old habits disappear.
## III. Event
### Interdimensional Transit — Arrival
Ned wakes on a surgical trolley while Mara argues over the cost of returning her hand. He stops an orderly wheeling an awake patient away and mistakes the whole clinic for an emergency.
### Event
The Hand That Would Not Let Go
The teacher arrives to pay for one hour with the hand before a final audition. Mara has an order to seize his remaining eye. Ned offers to witness a repayment agreement, then discovers that the hour’s hire costs more than the debt it is meant to earn off.
Mara takes the teacher to a practice room instead. When the clinic locks the exit, she uses the hand to break the latch, damaging its expensive tendons and making herself liable. Ned braces the teacher while he plays the audition on a borrowed keyboard with one hand. No miraculous second hand appears.
### Interdimensional Transit — Departure
Ned falls asleep in the practice room. Afterwards Mara sells her contract and has the graft removed. The teacher teaches her the scales on a cheap prosthesis. They are both poorer; the relationship no longer begins with ownership of part of his body.
