# Kettle World
> PROPOSED WORLD DOSSIER · GENRE ANTHOLOGY
> Hot-pink material is a new scenario for author review, not an established transmission. The closing aftermath is a proposed narrative coda, not information Ned receives after leaving.
## I. World Summary
Old appliances sometimes become small gods through years of domestic attention. Laundry owner Bina’s kettle can boil any amount of water and has made her shop famous. It is also a vain, irritable creature that wants to enter the town’s amateur singing contest.
### Geographic Coordinates
Not assigned. The encounter location is described in the summary; no latitude or longitude is established.
### Temporal Coordinates
Not assigned. World numbering is a catalogue order, not a confirmed itinerary.
## II. World Divergence
The god works only while someone sincerely thanks it. Bina has trained herself to say thank you so often that the words have become automatic; the water has begun cooling. Genuine attention, rather than worshipful volume, sustains the bargain.
## III. Event
### Interdimensional Transit — Arrival
Ned wakes in a laundry basket and compliments the kettle’s humming. It abandons the boiler to rehearse with him. Every bathhouse customer arrives at Bina’s door at once.
### Event
The Saint Who Wanted a Day Off
Bina dresses Ned as a temporary kettle saint and has him accept complaints behind a screen while she retrieves the real one. He is a terrible deity and promises refunds she cannot afford. At the contest, the kettle sings badly and nobody applauds until Bina laughs, then thanks it for a performance it chose. It boils over with pleasure and ruins the judges’ tablecloth.
### Interdimensional Transit — Departure
Ned falls asleep among the refunds. Afterwards the shop closes one afternoon each week. Bina lists ordinary heating costs honestly. The kettle remains an unbearable singer, but the water is hot again.
