## I. World Summary
Earth Prime is Ned Srinivasagam’s home world and the reference reality for his travels. He is a physics graduate student before he becomes a traveler: someone whose life belongs to a place he expects to wake in again.
A contemporary world of cities, farms, digital networks, unequal resources, and growing environmental strain. Energy, housing, work, and family obligations shape ordinary lives. Research depends on materials, evidence, institutions, and other people’s attention; an important result does not automatically become a public fact.
For Ned, these conditions matter at the scale of an interrupted life. Before the explosion, scientific work offers a way to make something happen in the world he knows. Afterwards, even sending a message cannot establish whether he still has a place in it. The phone can reach an address; it cannot give him the ordinary assurance that somebody has heard him.
Ned searches each new world for answers to the cryptic communications on his phone. He believes he is meant to do something, but cannot tell whether the messages are the cause or consequence of his actions. The search for home now also involves interpreting evidence whose place in the sequence of events is uncertain.
### Geographic Coordinates
Earth Prime is identified as Ned’s home world. His home city, university, and departure coordinates have not been recorded.
### Temporal Coordinates
No in-world calendar date has been established. The contemporary setting provides context, not a fixed date for Ned’s departure or a measured offset from other worlds.
## II. World Divergence
Earth Prime is the baseline, not a proven first universe. Its ordinary constraints include finite available energy, material costs, and physical distance. Ned reports discovering free energy, but the post does not establish that anyone reproduced the result or that Earth’s society changed because of it.
The central break is in Ned’s relation to home. Sleep once belonged to the continuity of his life; it now removes him from whatever continuity he has begun to build. His effort to understand the world has made him dependent on strangers whose lives he can affect without being able to remain accountable to them for long.
The experiment may have affected causality: Ned suspects that consequences could reach him before the events that produce them. Whether the supposedly free energy has a cost elsewhere, or whether some messages could originate from himself, remains an open question rather than an established explanation.
What happened on Earth Prime after his disappearance is unknown. No catastrophe, institutional response, identified loved one, or return visit is established. Those absences remain open rather than being filled with an invented recovery at home.
## III. Event
### Interdimensional Transit — Arrival
No arrival is recorded. Earth Prime is the origin of the journey, so the stranger-arrives pattern does not apply to this first event.
### Event
**The Interrupted Life**
Ned reports discovering free energy, then remembers an explosion and a white light. His world disappears from his experience. His account does not identify the equipment, location, or other people present; it does not establish that Earth itself disappeared.
The event changes the individual at its center before it changes any known society. A student who could imagine following the consequences of his own work becomes someone who may vanish from the next encounter as soon as he falls asleep. His first attempt to recover ordinary contact is a transmission: an assertion of identity sent without assurance of a reader.
### Interdimensional Transit — Departure
He wakes in another dimension and describes involuntary sleep-triggered travel thereafter. He calls the condition interdimensional narcolepsy. His first destination is unnamed. His phone remains a conduit for outgoing transmissions and incoming cryptic communiqués: corrupted photographs and fragmentary texts. He reports that the first arrived an instant before the laboratory accident. Their origin and meaning remain unknown; receiving them does not establish contact with a known person at home.
The continuing arrangement we can describe belongs to Ned: survive, stay awake as long as he can, and send something when the connection permits. This is a precarious personal equilibrium, not evidence of what the people at home do after he is gone.

The opening photograph is displayed before the written transmission in the source post. Ned reports that the first communiqué arrived just before the laboratory accident.

### Observation Log | Transmissions
- [Transmission Test - i am ned and i am not ded](https://nednotded.com/i-am-ned-and-i-am-not-ded/) — the unnumbered introduction before Transmission 0001, sent from an unidentified parallel world and describing Earth Prime as home.

my phone is somehow still tethered to my universe, my world, earth prime, like an extension cord caught underneath a closed door. occasionally, a connection opens long enough for me to send something through. i receive corrupted photos and fragmentary texts, i but do not understand their origin or grasp their meaning. the first one showed up an instant before the accident in the lab. i do not know if they are the cause or the consequence of my action. i believe i am meant to do something, i am searching for answers in each new world. this interdimensional observation log is a record of my journey.

i don’t know whether anyone is reading this or if these transmissions are sitting unread on a server. if someone can see this, i just want you to know: i am ned and i am not ded.

### Observation Log | Supplemental
- [Transmission Test - i am ned and i am not ded](https://nednotded.com/i-am-ned-and-i-am-not-ded/) — supplemental note below the source post’s dashed divider. The destination remains unidentified.

cold. wet. hungry. the confusion is harder to locate.
the ringing continues. a thousand tuning forks, all invisible. covering my ears changes nothing. possible concussion. difficult to assess my own thinking with the same head that’s numb with pain. i keep trying to remember my lab. beyond the railing, across the water — somewhere my mind could return to. i can still see my handwriting on the whiteboard. i remember the white light. i remember something else. write that i remember something even though i don’t know what it was. stop before, i begin changing it to make sense. warm air. cold water. the rope. the ship. the bell. leave the gaps intact. what isn’t there is as important as what is. my name is ned srinivasagam. i know that is who i am. i would like to go an hour without needing to tell myself. remember who you are. everything else is uncertain. start from what you know. another photograph arrived. how? why? who sent it? what am i seeing? i looked until the screen dimmed, then touched it to bring the light back. rest your mind now. the rest will sort itself out later.

Ned’s hope of returning home coexists with uncertainty about who receives his transmissions and who sends the incoming fragments. The photographs frame the observation logs as prompt and consequence, with his written encounter between them. The origin post now displays both the opening precursor and closing afterimage photographs. Neither an identified sender nor a reliable two-way conversation is established.
